Every song,
a story
Christy Cooper is a singer/songwriter and multi-instrumentalist from Connecticut. She has been a student at String Theory School of Music for 15 years, where she has studied voice, bass, piano, guitar, drums, ukulele, and music production. Christy is currently part of two local bands as a lead vocalist and bassist, and she considers her bandmates and other musical collaborators to be some of her best friends and most important people in her life, and she truly feels that she is her most authentic self around those who create music with her.
Christy was introduced to all kinds of music growing up, and continues listening to and taking inspiration from almost any music genre you can think of, but she’s found her home in the rock and alternative genres. Anything from indie to emo, classic rock to experimental pop, heavy metal to new wave, she loves it.
While not performing and jamming solo or with her bandmates, you can find Christy performing in theatre, her most recent roles include Regina George in Mean Girls, The Witch in Into the Woods, and Charlotte in Rodgers and Hammerstein’s Cinderella. She has also been dancing for almost her whole life and has a strong passion for musical and creative expression through body movement.
